Description

The Aliens Have Landed (to play chess)

"Guided Play Edition (with chess markers)"

This is the exact same chess set as the set you find here: https://makerworld.com/en/models/2241904-aliens-have-landed-to-play-chess-plain-edition

The difference is that this set has miniature traditional chess piece designating the rank of each piece.  Look closely at the base of each and you will see the enhancment.  Allows for players who might be uncertain as to what piece is what.

THE STORY

(Same story as other set)

In 2065, the Zorbaxians—a race of curious, gray-skinned aliens—crash-landed on Earth with a singular goal: compete in the Galactic Chess Wars. Led by the flamboyant King Zorvok, they quickly discovered that chess wasn’t just a game—it was a universal language of power, strategy, and absurdity. With Queen Xylora’s accidental conquests, Bishop Dr. T’Kahl’s philosophical blunders, and a collection of cloned pawns who barely understood directions, the Zorbaxians blended brilliance and chaos into a style no human player could predict. Chess, they believed, was the key to understanding—and possibly rewriting—reality itself.

Just as Earth began to adapt to their strange tactics, another presence arrived.

From a distant, unforgiving star system came the Drak’Thari—bejeweled reptilian overlords driven not by curiosity, but domination. Where the Zorbaxians toyed with strategy, the Drak’Thari enforced it. Their leaders rule through force, intimidation, and relentless precision, viewing the chessboard as a battlefield rather than a puzzle. Two species. Two philosophies. One board.

Will the whimsical Grays charm their way to victory…

or will the ruthless Reptilians crush them piece by piece?

That choice is now yours.

Download their STL DNA, send it to your printer, and invite them to play.

ROLL CALL ~ The Characters

(Same story as other set)

ZORBAXIANS — “The Grays”

Zorvok — KING

Self-declared ruler of the Zorbaxians. Obsessed with Earth culture, responsible for space jazz, space nachos, and at least one failed cow-dance experiment. Still undecided whether conquest or gaming night is the better use of power.

Xylora — QUEEN

Accidentally conquered a planet while looking for coffee. Wields a glowing orb of unknown origin and impeccable fashion sense. Diplomacy suffers when she insists battles coordinate with her outfit.

Dr. T’Kahl — BISHOP

Philosopher-scientist who suspects the universe is a pinball machine. Practices alien yoga and once mistook an asteroid for exercise equipment. Brilliant. Occasionally concussed.

and

Oorla — BISHOP

Serene energy controller and fleet mediator. Unshakable in battle, except when “space yoga” is mentioned—then she giggles uncontrollably. Lead negotiator of the Pineapple Pizza Debate.

Lieutenant Kl’Rook — KNIGHT

Dramatic leaper of obstacles and common sense. Famous for bold charges, accidental tumbles, and attempting to ride comets (helmet always on).

and

Captain Y’Drath — KNIGHT

Rejects “retreat” as a concept. Charged a black hole once. Lost. Claims moral victory.

Commander Blipzo — ROOK

Immovable guardian of the fleet’s edges. Known for long waits, slow advances, and motivational speeches delivered to asteroids.

and

Commander Zarnak — ROOK

Believes any problem can be solved with strength. Has attempted to move moons. Still optimistic.

Zibbles #1–#8 — PAWNS (Clones)

Eight nearly identical clones with wildly different levels of competence. Some forget directions, some forget allegiances, one believes the universe is a coffee mug. All hope not to be first captured.

DRAK’THARI — “The Reptilians”

Drak’Thar — KING

Ruthless ruler crowned in obsidian and flame. Saw the chessboard as a battlefield worth claiming—and claimed it.

Serpentina — QUEEN

Mind-reading, fire-wielding, power-hungry. Views the Queen not as a piece, but a destiny. Terrifyingly effective.

Xarnak — BISHOP

Temporal strategist who rewinds time to watch opponents fail twice. Rarely wrong—unless misleading on purpose.

and

Glissar — BISHOP

Silent defender who wins by waiting. Boxes enemies in slowly until surrender feels inevitable.

Korgal — KNIGHT

Rule-breaker and chaos engine. Leaps without logic. Trains by riding comets and sparring space wolves.

and

Zogar — KNIGHT

Shadow-moving assassin. Precise, quiet, and lethal. Enemies often realize too late he was ever there.

Traxxus — ROOK

Builder of impenetrable defenses. Traps opponents inside their own mistakes.

and

Drashok — ROOK

Pure destruction. Where Traxxus builds, Drashok obliterates. Smiles while plans collapse.

Kraggles #1–#8 — PAWNS (Clones)

Genetically perfected soldiers. Identical, disciplined, relentless. No individuality. No mercy.

THE DESIGN

Focus on this themed chess set started with a small prompt given to the "FLUX" AI Generator.

https://fluxai.art/features/ai-character-generator

I thought I would try something different other than my standby ChatGPT and Sora 1.  I was quite surprised with how fast and awesome the renderings were. I simply asked for an alien chess piece.  A Pawn.  The rest is now history.  Fun!  Try it.

The Printer Settings:

Take time to use these settings for optimal prints. Note: Smartphones and tablets cannot print with Tree supports, so use a PC for these settings.

Take the time to utilize this information for better prints.  NOTE: If you are trying to print from a 'Smart Phone' or 'Pad', you will have failed prints. You must be able to set your printer for 'Tree' supports. Smart phones and pads do not allow for this.

 Consider 'Annealing' your chess set.

Annealing your PLA models can improve strength by 10–20%. If you plan to use the set regularly, I highly recommend it. For display or occasional play, annealing is optional, and the appearance and finish remain unchanged.

Print & Handling Notes:

These models feature fine, delicate details. A strong filament is recommended, or you can anneal your set for additional strength (as noted above).
