Description
Aloka
In 2025 a group of 19 Buddhist monks and their loyal dog Aloka set out on a journey from Houston Texas to Washington DC to promote awareness of peace, loving kindness, and compassion across America and the World. Their simple action is inspiring millions with a message that can be embraced by people of all faiths.
I pray this action will cause people to examine their hearts and ask: What is peace? Why is it always so elusive? Is it even possible?
If we study history the one fact which no-one can argue is that man is utterly incapable of peace. We cannot do it on our own. And it is not because of how we were made, but because sin has caused us to fall away from God. And unless we restore our relationship with God, we will never achieve peace.
The good news is that through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, God has extended an olive branch to us. If we place our faith in Jesus we will be accepted into his kingdom and become children of God.
Hebrews 12:14-15
[14] Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord. [15] See to it that no one fails to obtain the grace of God; that no “root of bitterness” springs up and causes trouble, and by it many become defiled;
Please pray for these monks, that they have a safe journey, that their action causes people to change their heart and seek God.
