Description

**For A1, P1, X1 sized printers, use the “P2S” selection or click the profile with the correct name. Makersworld is not updating the compatible printers even though they are selected in the print profile.

This is a large-format stacking toy with a pass-through spinner mechanism, designed to encourage hands-on play, color recognition, fine motor development, and open-ended exploration for young children.

The model consists of a twisted center pole and 9 stackable discs that slide freely over the pole via a star-shaped pass-through opening. The geometry allows each disc to spin smoothly as it is placed, creating a satisfying sound, tactile and visual experience. The discs can be stacked in any order, promoting creativity rather than a fixed “correct” arrangement.

This design has been extensively play-tested by my own children (ages 1, 2, and 4), who consistently return to it for independent and cooperative play. The size, weight, and stability make it suitable for toddlers while still being engaging for older preschoolers.

Key Features

  • 9 stackable discs with smooth, rounded profiles
  • Pass-through spinner design allows discs to rotate as they slide down
  • Twisted center pole for added visual interest and dynamic motion
  • Large, stable base to prevent tipping during play
  • Encourages:
    • Fine motor skills
    • Hand-eye coordination
    • Color sorting and sequencing
    • Cause-and-effect learning

Print Requirements

  • The center pole is 274 mm tall, which requires a printer with a larger Z-height
  • Discs and base are straightforward prints with no supports required
  • Designed to print well in PLA, PETG, or other common filaments
  • Works especially well with multi-color printing, but single-color prints are also fully functional

Intended Use & Safety Notes

  • Intended as a children’s stacking toy
  • Recommended for supervised play, especially for children under 3
  • Print with non-toxic filament and ensure all parts are smooth before use
  • This is a 3D-printed toy, not a certified commercial product
