Folding Brace Adapter - Picatinny to Buffer Tube
Print Profile(1)

Description
This model features a folding brace adapter that connects a picatinny rail (1913 rail) to a buffer tube. It is meant for systems that have a picatinny rail on the back instead of a typical brace or stock. You mount this adapter onto the pic rail and then you are able to screw on a buffer tube and add any kind of stock or brace that you want, its pretty sweet. It also has a folding mechanism built into it which took me a lot of attempts to get right. I cleverly used a compression spring and an M4 machine screw to create an auto locking mechanism so when you unfold your brace, it automatically locks in the unfolded position which creates a fast and efficient action with no wasted efforts.
I will say, the model is definitely a bit chunky for the application but this is my first iteration or this concept and I plan on optimizing it in the future. For now I was mainly focused on getting the hinging and locking mechanism to work. It might take a bit of “breaking in” to get the M4 screw to automatically lock the system when it gets unfolded so if you are having issues with that, just keep pressing the “button” a bunch of times to break it in and throw a tiny bit of oil on the screw/spring if you have some. That’s pretty much it! Throw any standard buffer tube onto this adapter and you are able to attach any stock or brace to your picatinny mount!
