Description

Create perfectly shaped, oblong dishes with ease using this simple clay mold. Whether you work with traditional ceramics, stoneware, or air-dry clay, this form helps you achieve consistent results and smooth curves every time.

Dimensions: 280 mm x 130 mm

Design & Assembly To make this mold printable on all 3D printers (regardless of build volume), the design is split into parts.

  • Assembly: Simply glue the parts together to create a sturdy, full-sized mold. Gluing ensures the best function and stability when pressing the clay.

How to Use

  1. Roll out your clay: Create a slab of clay to your desired thickness (approx. 5-8 mm is usually good).
  2. Prepare the mold: To prevent sticking, lightly dust the mold with cornstarch or cover it with a thin layer of plastic wrap (cling film).
  3. Shape: Place your clay slab into the mold. Gently press it down to conform to the shape, smoothing out the rim.
  4. Dry: Let the clay stiffen slightly before removing it from the mold to ensure it holds its shape.

Material Notes

  • The orange mold shown in the pictures was printed in PETG, but PLA works just as well for this application.
  • The white dish shown is the result using earthenware clay.

Happy potting!
