Description

The original drip tray for Thermador/Bosch coffee machines (Bosch Coffee Maker Salver Part#: 12006145) is known to crack or break over time, especially under daily use. To solve this, I designed a replacement tray using only visual inspection and precise caliper measurements, no 3D scanning required. The goal was to create a stronger, more reliable part that anyone can print at home.

Backstory: After my original drip tray broke for the third time, I realized buying replacements was a waste and inconvenient. Instead of continuing the cycle, I decided to reverse-engineer the part myself. Using a caliper and careful observation, I recreated the dimensions and improved the weak points that caused the original to fail. This project is about empowering DIY solutions and sharing with the 3D printing community so others can avoid the same frustration.

Key Features:

  • Improved Strength: Reinforced structural areas to prevent common breakage points.
  • Accurate Fit: Dimensions based on precise caliper measurements for a snug, functional fit.
  • Print-Friendly Design: Optimized for standard FDM printers with minimal supports.
  • Material Recommendation: PLA/PLA+ for easy printing and rigidity, or PETG for better heat and moisture resistance.

This design is open for feedback and improvements, feel free to modify and enhance it for better performance or aesthetics. Sharing this helps others avoid costly replacements and promotes DIY solutions.
