Realnationprint – Z-Axis Dust Cover (Version 2026)

These custom-designed Z-axis spindle covers were created to prevent dust, filament debris and other particles from accumulating around the lower bearing of the Z-axis. By shielding the exposed area, the covers help keep the mechanism clean and reduce wear over time — without affecting printer performance in any way.

The cover consists of two parts and can easily be removed or lifted when lubrication or maintenance of the Z-axis spindle is required. Small grooves are integrated on the bottom edges, making it easier to grip and lift the parts when needed.

Despite their close tolerance fit, the covers sit securely in place and do not interfere with the motion or operation of the printer.

🔧 Installation

STEP 1
Place the first part into its intended position at the base of the Z-axis spindle.

STEP 2
Slide the second part down along the spindle and onto the first piece.

No force is required — the parts are designed to fit together precisely.

⚠️ The rear screw can be a bit tricky to reach due to the limited finger space, but with a little patience it can be installed without issue.

⚠️ Important Note

This model relies on a very accurate fit to function correctly.
Different filaments can shrink or expand differently, so minor scaling adjustments may be necessary depending on your material.

If printing in PLA or PETG, regularly check the part for deformation due to the higher internal temperatures inside enclosed printers to avoid operational issues.
