Description

Boost Me (for free)

If you've found this helpful, please consider boosting!  Thank you in advance!

These stepped shims provide spacing in 1/16" increments (~1.8mm), perfect for concrete and asphalt!  Find the height that works best for you: low enough to not leave a thin sheet of ice, but high enough to not wear out the scraper blade every other year!

  • Heights range from 1/16" (~1.6mm) to 5/16" (~8mm) - intended for concrete or asphalt surfaces
  • Measurements in both imperial and metric (rounded)
  • Text is “upside down” to be easily readable while in use
  • Fits together for compact storage w/ tape or rubber band

How to use (consult your snow blower's manual for instructions specific to your machine)

  1. Print two shims
  2. Find flat ground for the front of the snow blower to rest on (sweep up any debris or small stones)
  3. Loosen the bolts of the skid shoes
  4. Place shims on the ground in front of the blade with the thin ends pointed towards the snow blower.
  5. Lift front of the machine, move it forward slightly, and set it down on the shims at your desired height. If your shims are near the outside of the machine, confirm that they are supporting just the blade - not the housing of the snow blower.
  6. Push skid shoes down until they are touching the ground. Hold them firmly against the ground and tighten bolts.
  7. Blow that snow!
