Description

These parts are used to manage your rigging during storage and transport. It is not uncommon to see twist ties and pipe cleaners used for this job, but these clips work well and look nice. They have a cutout that will allow your lines to pass through while clipped and a small hole you you can attach a loop of line as well.

These will fit the 3 major booms and mast profiles seen on racing-class sailboats like IOM, Star 45, and EC-12. There are parts for 11mm mast and booms, Sailsetc rectangle profile booms, and Chesapeake Performance Model airfoil profile mast and booms.

The single clips are for attaching your shrouds to the mast so they don't turn into a bird nest during transport.

The double clips are for attaching your mainsail and jib booms together. For most boats, you don't have to detach the jib, just rotate it so the luff faces backwards and the two booms will align well enough to clip together. You may need to adjust the jib forestay bowsie if the jib is too floppy.

I recommend a filament that can take heat exposure. You can try light-colored PLA, but it may not do well in a hot car or direct sun. It is better to use ASA , ABS, or PETG. A bright color helps you find them in the grass if you drop them.

I use ASA printed at 0.24 layer height with 6 walls for complete, concentric infill. This gives the most strength with proper flex. I also recommend a 5mm brim to keep the narrow arms in place during printing.

Print lots of extras, as they tend to disappear and many will be given away to friends!
