Print Profile(7)

Bill of Materials
Description
With this project, I wanted to decoratively enhance my living room, so I created a few door variations for my cube shelves that I would like to share with you here
The doors are stable, functional, and decorative at the same time – ideal for open cube shelves where the contents should be protected but not completely "hidden"
⚠ Notes:
- I am not a CAD professional, but I strive to publish something decent here! :)
- Make sure to thoroughly clean the print bed before each print
- if you scale later in the slicer, the magnet pockets will also change – the magnets might no longer fit
- Please check the polarity of the magnets before inserting them; the door stops are quite small, but you can still save yourself a second print :) - I speak from experience..
Design Variants
Currently, three design variants are included:
- Lined
- Textured
- Circular Pattern
- perhaps I will make more if I find the motivation. → nothing for you? Remixes are welcome!
Additionally, I am uploading an empty door template, with which you can easily implement your own patterns (perfect for your remixes). I would be happy if more variants are created!
To do this, simply mirror the template to the left and down.
Structure & Construction
Each door consists of 4 individual panels:
- Two panels each are screwed together with a total of 4- M3 screws and the corresponding handle.
- The final stability of the door is achieved by the hinges, which are directly attached to the door.
Print-in-Place Hinges
- The hinges are printed directly with the door (Print in Place).
- After printing, these must be carefully "broken in" to make them movable.
- The typical cracking sound is normal – please proceed carefully to avoid damage.
Magnetic Door Stop
For secure closing of the door, two magnetic door stops are used:
- Neodymium round magnets 6×2 mm are used
- The magnets are inserted during a paused print
- Door stops and handles are printed separately
Sizes & Compatibility
The doors were initially developed for a cube shelf with:
- 35 × 35 cm inner dimensions
Additionally, pre-scaled versions are available for:
- IKEA KALLAX
33.5 × 33.5 cm inner dimensions
ℹ️ The dimensions are not parametric but are stored as fixed variants. I am still learning how to properly handle parameters.. :D
including already considered tolerances. If you are unsure, it's better to trim 0.2-0.4mm from the sides in the slicer. For me, everything fit quite well, but the cubes naturally differ a little.
Mounting Aid – Drilling Template
Each print profile also includes a mounting template:
- Simply hold it against the cube
- Mark drilling points
- Drill, screw – done
No elaborate measuring necessary.
Assembly
1. Insert magnets during the paused print (This also applies to the stops; the pauses are already stored in the print profile)

2. "Break in" hinge

3. Screw door panels with handle.

4. Mark with template as drilling aid

5. Pre-drill and screw.
