DICE-CALIBUR

Description
If you’re a tabletop gaming enthusiast, you know that finding unique ways to carry and display your dice can be part of the fun. Recently, I designed a special gift for some co-workers who love Dungeons & Dragons. I ended up creating what I like to call Dice-calibur.
The idea came about when I saw them browsing the web for dice holders. They were looking at static trays shaped like weapons, which were cool but not interactive. That’s when I thought it would be fun if you could actually select the exact die you want. I cracked open SolidWorks and designed a mechanical system that does just that.
Dice-calibur isn’t just a cool prop. It has an internal rotating chamber with a dial on top. When you rotate the handle you can pick the exact die you want to use. Then, when you pull the blade from its sheath, only that chosen die flies out. For the version I made and gave away, I used smaller 13mm dice to keep the whole thing pocket-sized.
In the end, it was a smash. Everybody loved it, and it was a great reminder of how a little creativity and the right tools can elevate things beyond average expectations.
Hopefully, this inspires you to add a bit of mechanical magic to your own game nights!
