šŸ‰ DRAGON CLOGS by OMBRA3D

Forged in Digital. Printed in Reality.

šŸ“½ļø THE CONCEPTĀ

ā€œImagine walking on a legend. The city is a concrete jungle, and you need the right armor to face it.

Dragon Clogs are not just footwear: they are a biomorphic evolution. Inspired by the impenetrable skin of mythological dragons and meticulously sculpted scale by scale, these shoes fuse the aggressive aesthetics of futuristic streetwear with the absolute comfort of TPU.

Every step is cushioned. Every scale is sculpted to catch the light. Don't just print an object. Print your style."

šŸ’” THE PROJECT: BOLD MAKER ATTITUDE

This model was born from a specific idea: break the monotony. Classic clogs are comfortable, yes, but let's face it: everyone has them. Dragon Clogs are the Maker world's aggressive answer to mass production.

Ā

The project unites two apparently opposite worlds:

Classic Functionality: The familiar, breathable silhouette designed for all-day comfort.

Ā

Fantasy Aesthetics: A complex, detailed texture that is impossible to achieve with traditional industrial molds.

The Ultimate "Maker Flex": Wearing these shoes is a statement of intent. It is the most direct way to say: "Hey, I 3D print and I am the only one with this unique piece." It is not just a shoe; it is a wearable trophy.

āš™ļø MATERIAL & SETUP (Field Tested)

Ā

šŸ“„ HOW TO DOWNLOAD & PRINT (Left/Right)
Ā

āš ļø PLEASE READ BEFORE PRINTING: To ensure you have a complete pair of shoes, I have already provided both dedicated Print Profiles:

Ā

DRAGON CLOGS DX: This is the Right shoe.

DRAGON CLOGS SX: This is the Left shoe.

You have 3 options to print a pair:

  1. The Pro Way: Simply download both profiles (DX and SX) and print them.
  2. The Slicer Way: Download one file, print it, then use the "Mirror" function in your slicer to create the opposite foot and print again.
  3. The "Two Rights" Way: If you don't mind, you can just print the DX file twice (but your left foot might be a bit jealous!).

To achieve the quality you see in the renders and a truly usable shoe, here is my proven configuration:

Ā

āœ… Recommended Material: TPU 95A/90A It is the perfect balance. The shoe maintains its "dragon" shape without collapsing while ensuring necessary cushioning. (I do not recommend softer TPUs like 85A for this specific model).

Ā

šŸŒ”ļø Temperature: I strongly recommend slightly lowering the extrusion temperature (compared to the spool's standard). This drastically reduces "stringing" and keeps the scale texture clean and defined.

šŸ“ SIZING GUIDE (Easy Method)

āš ļø IMPORTANT WARNING: The model appears positioned diagonally in the slicer to optimize space.

Ā šŸ‘‰ DO NOT look at the dimensions in mm (X, Y, Z), as they are skewed by the rotation. Modify ONLY the "Uniform Scale" percentage.

The original file (100% Scale) corresponds exactly to a EU 42.

Ā

HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR SIZE:

Measure your foot length in cm.

Find your measurement in the table below.

Enter the "SCALE %" value into your Slicer.

šŸ”“ HARDWARE NOTE: Size 42 (100%) is the maximum limit for standard printers (256x256mm build plate). For sizes 43, 44, 45, and 46, you will need a Large Format printer (300x300mm bed or larger) because the model will exceed the standard plate boundaries.

these things are awesome! I'm experimenting with different infill patterns and percentages but love them. Printed on my U1 with PLA as support material

I also have a Snapmaker U1. What are the best settings to use with TPU95A and PLA ? Can you send me the files you have to print on my U1 ?

My print failed spectacularly but I still got a successful pair of croccs. I used all PETG supports as I wasn't sure if I'd have enough TPU for the print with only the interface. I also coloured a few bits freehand and think they worked out well, I think I added fuzzy skin by accident when colouring šŸ˜… What I learned after the fact! When using full PETG supports with TPU make sure and click "supports on bed only" and outer walls of prime tower all one material. As for the shoes 95A is a bit hard on the tops of the shoes nice cushion on the soles though.

Hi Conman, thanks so much for sharing your experience and the pics! I'm really glad that the hiccup with the supports didn't ruin the final result... which is nothing short of spectacular! Great job with the freehand coloring, and I have to say the accidental fuzzy skin effect actually works perfectly and gives an awesome touch to the scales. Thanks again for printing my model, great job!šŸ™šŸ‰šŸŒˆ

No matter how i positioned the shoe in the slicer, no matter where or how i put supports on the model and no matter what i did, i could not get more than about 30 minutes into the completion before the model failed. i used your recommendations and your print profile and have not had a successful print. i wont 1 star since im not that guy, but any tips on why this wont print correctly would be rad!! Thanks!! makerworld wont let me comment unless i rate the model and it will only let me do 3 starts, i tried to 5 star but was revoked when trying

Have you calibrated the TPU? Which TPU are you using? Try lowering the speed, maybe set it to 50%. Check that the hotend isn’t clogged. Update Bambu Studio. Make sure the filament feeds smoothly without resistance or friction. The TPU spool should not go inside the AMS, but stay outside! I really don’t know what else to suggest. I wouldn’t want you to waste more filament! Good luck!

I have calibrated the TPU yes Overature 95A i lowered the speed in the slicer and on the machine (p1s to 50%) hotend def isnt clogged, it prints and then after about the 30 minute mark its like it skips a layer and its down hill from there studio is up to date the roll is on the external rack and has no hard bends - i can print tires with zero issues so thats not the culprit thanks for the input :)

I've had similar issues with other prints and eventually got them printed by using +10° over the Max nozzle temperature for the filament might help might not but worth a try if you still want to print them.

I need to size this for my grandson - he wears a size 2 shoe. If you do not have sizes for kids, I'll try 75% and see how it fits.

2?😱 Maybe you meant 20! measure your nephew's foot and in Bambu Studio use the ruler and measure the inside when you scale it so you don't waste prints unnecessarily, try to leave a few centimeters of tolerance!

DRAGON CLOGS DX (Right)
unfortunately could not print it successfully scaled to size 30 the surface was not clean and supports did not come off well but it will be more due to the filament than the profile despite drying

Hi! I'm sorry to hear the print didn't turn out well. TPU is a tricky material that requires very precise settings to print correctly, especially with supports and when scaling. Also, don't forget the classic thorough cleaning of the build plate before printing! I hope you manage to find the perfect setup for your filament.šŸ™
