The Twisty Fidget Ball is a unique take on my twisty fidget series of toys. I received several requests to make a ball-shaped version, so I went ahead and gave it a shot! It employs a similar mechanism to my other designs, but had rounded members, and a flat bottom for print-ability and stability.

For a smaller version, check out the Twisty Fidget Ball Pocket via the print profile!

Please do not scale the models down, this will cause fusing and prevent critical features from printing correctly.

The Twisty Fidget Ball is a decorative fidget toy where several interlocking pieces slide along a spiral. Each member has a limit to hold them from sliding too far. It is fun to play and makes for a nice modern decoration!

This print requires no support and prints in place. Please clean your build plate thoroughly because this can be a challenging print if your bed adhesion isn't great. Otherwise I printed this several times without fail.

Update 1/26/2026: Several people with different printers have noted that the members slide apart. This should be prevented by the "stopper" which should print about half way up. I haven't been able to pin down exactly why some users are having the issue yet (seems to depend on printer + configuration + slicer settings). For those having trouble, check the preview screen in your slicer at layer ~147 to see if the stopper is printing, it should look like the areas circled in blue shown below. Note that the width of the stopper is just over 0.5mm wide.

Feel free to reach out with modeling questions! I'm always happy to discus all things CAD!
