Elegant Handle Covers for IKEA ALEX – Old & New

Before printing all five handles, please make sure to print one single handle first to check whether the dimensions fit correctly.

Interestingly, I created these handles specifically for both the old and the new model, and yet some people are still complaining that the handles do not fit. This issue is not caused by my models, but rather by manufacturing tolerances and variations in IKEA drawers themselves. These drawers are not always identical, even when they are sold as the same model.

For this reason, it is essential to test a single print before producing all parts. Negative reviews based on fitting issues that are outside of my control are not justified and do not reflect the quality or accuracy of my models.

These elegant handles were specifically designed for IKEA ALEX drawer units and completely conceal the existing holes, creating a clean, calm, and modern appearance.

Thanks to their thoughtful geometry, the handles sit flush with the drawer front and blend seamlessly into the furniture, appearing like an integral part of the ALEX system. The surface remains smooth and refined—ideal for minimalist and modern interiors.

The handle is available in two precisely matched versions:

• for the new ALEX model
• for the old ALEX model

The version for the old ALEX model was developed later in response to requests from several community members. As I do not own an old ALEX unit myself, this version was created with the help of shared measurements, feedback, and practical input from the community.

For both model generations, two mounting options are available:

Screw-mounted version

• Secured with small countersunk screws
• Three screws per handle
• Screw heads sit flush and are barely visible
• Provides a particularly stable and durable fixation

Adhesive version

• Installation without drilling or screws
• Clean and discreet attachment
• Flat and sufficiently large adhesive surface

These handles combine functionality and aesthetics: the original drawer holes disappear completely, the furniture gains a refined and uncluttered look, while remaining fully functional.
