Description
Why this case?
I have several Asus Chromeboxes, but three of them wouldn’t fit side by side in a 1U rack — I was short just 5 mm of space. So I designed this custom case specifically for the Asus Chromebox3 motherboard, so it fits perfectly in tight 1U setups.
Key features
• Designed around the original Asus Chromebox3 motherboard, so it’s compact and rack-friendly.
• Reuses the original screws for the standoffs and even lets you reinstall the BIOS write-protection screw.
• Bottom cover held by four 4×2 mm magnets, with one reversed in polarity so it only fits one way.
• Space to stick the original rubber feet back on; with them, the total height matches the stock Chromebox exactly.
Perfect for 1U racks
This case is ideal if you want to stack multiple Asus Chromeboxes in a 1U rack and need every millimeter. It’s simple, functional, and keeps the original hardware where it matters.
