Description

This 3D-printed wineglass rack is designed to slide directly into the ATLAS rail system of half-size airline trolleys. It provides a secure and elegant way to store wine glasses either hanging by the base or standing upright (when flipped upside down).
Perfect for galley enthusiasts, Bordbar-style home conversions, event carts, or anyone using an ATLAS-based trolley as a kitchen or bar module.

The model uses a bridge-intended slot design: the two lower rails are printed as bridges that purposely droop slightly. This controlled drooping creates gentle resistance, helping the glasses stay securely in place even when the trolley is moved.

The included files are sized for half-depth printing, making them compatible with printers like the Bambu Lab H-series. To fill the full depth of a half-size ATLAS trolley, simply print the part twice.

Design Thoughts / Special Features

  • ATLAS Rail Compatible: Slides directly into standard ATLAS half-size trolley rails with no adapters.
  • Dual-Orientation Use:
    • Normal orientation: glasses hang by their base.
    • Flipped orientation: glasses stand upright.
  • Bridge-Based Grip System:
Designed to be printed with the slot openings facing the bed. The intentional bridge droop creates a natural spring effect that keeps the glasses from sliding during movement.
  • Capacity:
With an 81 mm base diameter and max glass width ~120 mm, the carrier holds up to six wine glasses in full-depth configuration.
  • Stiffening Features:
Rear structural slots reduce flex and increase rigidity.
  • Fully Customizable:
Available in the Makerworld Customizer to adjust rail spacing, length, or glass dimensions for non-standard carts.

Materials & Printing

Recommended materials:

  • PLA or fiber-reinforced filaments (e.g., PLA-CF) for maximum rigidity.
  • Avoid flexible materials like PETG or ABS if you plan to store heavier glasses.
  • Not intended for direct food contact; food-safety is not relevant for typical usage.

Print orientation:

  • Place the model with the glass slots facing the print bed.
  • This creates the desired droopy bridge effect for the retention rails.

Supports:

  • Not required for the intended design.
  • If cleaner bridge lines are desired, supports or tuned bridge settings can be used — but some droop is intentionally beneficial.

Infill & strength:

  • 15–25% infill is sufficient for most glasses.
  • Use a “strength” preset

Build volume note:

  • The provided model fits printers like the Bambu H2 (H-series).
  • To fill the entire ATLAS half-size trolley depth, print the part twice.
