Blast Gate (40mm Push-Fit Pipe)

A compact & effective blast gate that prints much quicker than the more common square designs. The swing gate also prevents clogging/sticking as it ensures no build up of dust, simply ejecting anything that does out of the open sides.

Relatively fast print times are possible thanks to this design format which has very little unused space & material.

This model is to suit off-the-shelf 40mm push-fit waste pipe…..Flowmaster (from the likes of Screwfix in UK and Ireland), or similar elsewhere as its a standard size. Be sure to opt for the Push-fit pipe variety and not the Solvent cement version as it is considerably cheaper, and using push fit fittings (with the rubber sealing ring) for the rest of your shop-vac dust extraction system is a great & versatile way to build one that can be added to (or even re-orientated, see photos in horizontal & vertical positions) as your needs change.

Pipe will friction fit into the blast gate mounting plate spigots, but if you want these can be glued in with a little CA glue for an even more secure fit. See photos and exploded installation video for more detail. You will need some fasteners as listed below to assemble. Works fantastically well in my workshop and I am certain this will be the perfect solution for many more out there too.
