Description
Protect your gear and your backpack with these rugged, flexible tip covers.
These protectors are designed to be printed in TPU (flexible filament) to ensure a snug, stretch-fit over the sharp points of your ice axe. They are essential for safe transport and storage of mountaineering tools.
Compatibility & Design: This model is a printable alternative to the standard Petzl Pick and Spike Protectors (Part Number: U82003). These covers are designed to be "universal" for the Petzl lineup.
While shown here on a Petzl Quark, they are compatible with almost all modern Petzl ice axes, including:
- Technical Tools: Nomic, Ergonomic, Sum'Tec, Gully.
- Mountaineering Axes: Summit & Summit Evo, Glacier & Glacier Linkin, Ride.
Key Features:
- Pick Protector (Top): Flexible design fits virtually any technical pick (Ice, Dry, Pur'Ice).
- Spike Protector (Bottom): Designed to stretch and fit over both the "technical" spikes (Quark/Nomic) and traditional pointed spikes (Summit).
Printing Instructions:
- Material: TPU is required.
- Walls: 3-4 perimeters recommended for durability against sharp steel points.
- Infill: 20% (Gyroid recommended).
- Orientation: Print vertically on the build plate for best print outcome.
