Description
Z-Axis Bearing Protection for P2S & X2D – Clean Fit Cover | Bambu Lab P2Series
P2S & X2D – Z-Axis Bearing Cover | Real Precision. Zero Dust. Zero Disassembly.
The Z-axis bearing of the P2S & X2D attracts dust like a magnet.
And the more you clean around the printer, the worse the situation gets.
That's why I designed a solution born from real measurements, not assumptions:
a clean, precise cover tested directly on the P2S, not just in CAD.
This model is part of my P2Series, a growing collection dedicated to real improvements for the Bambu Lab P2S & X2D.
Each part is designed, printed, adjusted, and retested on my machine until it performs flawlessly in the real world.
Precision here is not a promise: I verify it layer by layer.
Instant Installation – No tools, no risks, no disassembly
The design consists of two shells that fit together with millimeter precision:
- notches that align to a tenth,
- tight yet fluid tolerances,
- once engaged, the shells become a solid, play-free protection.
And most importantly:
you don't disassemble the axis, you don't remove parts, you don't touch anything.
Place, snap... done.
Upgrades for my P2Series and X2D
Every model in the P2Series is born with a clear objective:
to improve the user experience of the P2S and X2D in a simple, reliable, and measurable way.
These upgrades are designed to integrate perfectly with the original hardware, extensively tested on real configurations, and optimized to ensure a cleaner, more stable, and more efficient machine.
It's an ecosystem of improvements designed for those who print every day and want consistent performance over time.
Print profiles included
Do you want immediate and predictable results?
Use my profiles: they are optimized for the P2S and X2D and work immediately, without modifications.
Turn on the printer, load the file, print. It's really that simple.
If, however, you prefer to customize the parameters…
then you are entering the power-user zone.
And at that point, I assume you know exactly what you're doing.
How I design my models
I come from the automotive world, where every component must respect tolerances, repeatability, and real-world behavior under stress.
I bring the same mindset to my Bambu Lab workflow: functionality before aesthetics, precision before everything else.
Most of my projects are created in OpenSCAD, developed with a parametric approach similar to engineering tools:
diameters, clearances, thicknesses, and interfaces are controlled variables, not improvised ones.
If you need a different fit or a variant for slightly non-standard hardware, you can adapt everything in seconds.
Every model is validated as I would with a prototype in a workshop:
real assembly, clearance verification, mating tests, and mechanical stress.
Until it works as it should, I don't publish it.
All my files are released under my Standard Digital File License, unless otherwise specified.
Support me (for free) – And support an educational project
Every “boost” on this model supports the Coltellimania.com blog project, a blog for makers and knife enthusiasts.
Once costs are covered, the rest is reinvested in printers, filaments, and equipment.
Likes and follows help grow the project…
and perhaps inspire the next generation of makers.
