Description

Inspired by the iconic spirit of vintage American hot rods, this compact coupe model is designed for effortless printing and tough play at a scale of approximately 1:30. Even without an AMS you’ll get a sharp multi-color result, with shiny details like the exposed engine adding visual punch. All parts click together like a puzzle using the included snap-fit clips — no screws, glue or hardware needed.

Despite its size, this model packs in a ton of character:

  • a beautifully detailed front-mounted engine block
  • freely spinning wheels with minimal resistance
  • a sturdy body that holds up to rough handling
  • clean print-in-place geometry with minimal supports
  • tight-fitting clips for a satisfyingly solid build

Please note:

  • This is a no-hardware build, so some force is needed to press the clips into place — pressing down on a firm surface helps. A pair of pliers is recommended, especially when removing or adjusting clips during assembly.
  • Although the assembly is straightforward, the build is rated medium difficulty due to the snug fit and the number of similar-looking parts. Be sure to follow the assembly instructions carefully for a smooth experience.
  • This model was tested with PLA Basic for the body and PLA Metal for shiny parts like the engine. Using other materials may affect the assembly or strength of the final result.

Overall a great model and print. Thank you! My only problem when printing was the back of the radiator, I tried that part 3 times, luckily in the end it didn't matter with the way everything attaches. During assembly I found the wheel to axle attachment to be the most challenging, but it's done and all good.

Nice color scheme, looks great! Thanks also for your review, you’re officially the first maker who printed this model 🙌🏻 The back of the radiator is not needed indeed, I tried to make it more convenient to print through suppor but I’ll look into improving printability further. The axle clips are a bit rigid indeed, I looked for a balance between durability, sturdiness (my kids tend to play rough with toys 😅) and the ease to build the design - might have to tip the balance a bit in favor of the latter

Thank you! My kids are also rough with toys, I completely understand. It very well could have been the filament mix I chose as well and not necessarily anything with the model, axles were polymaker matte pla and wheels flashforge silk pla. I'd bet the silk expanded a bit making it just a hair more difficult than intended. Thank you for your reply, and again for the model.

Great model! I painted the windows in the slicer and it worked out great. I may tweak it a little more and print it again.

kids love it- efficient print and fun/functional. I found tapping with a light brass hammer the easiest way to seat the axles and wheels. thank you!

Nice print. Any chance could make a cockpit as a 3 window?

Thanks for your support! That’s an excellent suggestion. This was my first Blender model. At some point I want to start making toy cars again 🤓 when I do I’ll make sure to revisit the cockpit. I have so many things on my backlog 😅

Nice print, a few setting changes and turned out smooth. I am trying and failing to remove the bar that separates the side windows - any chance you can provide a 3-window cockpit as an option?
