NEW V2 NOW AVAILABLE!

Improvements:

  • New angled blade, allows for better ergonomics and comfort scraping at a lower angle
  • No supports needed
  • Added hole for hanging
  • New long handle version
  • Improved tolerances
  • Combined print profiles for Default, M3, and M3 insert versions

STEP files for the new V2 short and long handles are also now available

About

I wasn't able to find a scraper handle that I liked so I decided to make my own. Made to work with common plastic blades which can be bought and replaced for cheap. Handle allows for tool-less swapping of blades with a satisfying click in place.

This handle makes use of the screws for the Bambu scraper that comes included with your printer. If you do not have them (or want to make more scrapers), an alternative version for M3 screws as well as M3 inserts is also provided.

If none of the above works for you, I have additionally provided the STEP files for you to remix and customize to your liking.

Notes:

The new V2 blade clamp prints standing up at an angle, please ensure your bed is clean and has good adhesion prior to printing.

Assembly

The Blades:

Printed blades aren't as durable as the injection molded razor blades and it is much cheaper and economical to buy a pack of blades rather than printing them out which is why I have not provided a model of the blade as part of the print profile. You can find these razor blades through Amazon, AliExpress or maybe even your local home hardware store. Note it is much cheaper to buy from AliExpress, but you will need to wait for shipping. Prices and availability may vary depending on where you live.

PLA - V2 Long Handle
works ok. had to trim the middle knob a bit to fit the blade. maybe the blade vary abit in size between manufacturers?

I do see some areas where it seems to have overextruded a bit like on the recess of the blade clamp. You may need to tune your filament for temperature and flow.

Super easy to print scraper. Printed it in the PLA that came with my P1S. Will have to print the M3 profile as well because i did no realise it needed smaller screws

The regular profile reuses the screws from the bambu scraper you get with the printer. The M3 versions is in case you want more scrapers, it seems bambu doesn't sell the screws separately. The ones that come with the printer are BT3-8 screws I believe, but M3 are more common for people to have on hand.

It should be one of the first results if you search for 'plastic blades' on Amazon, they are typically orange double sided plastic blades. Alternatively you could also get on Aliexpress for cheaper if you don't mind waiting for shipping.

Would these plastic blades happen to fit this model? https://makerworld.com/en/models/22579#profileId-27603

No, it looks like those blades were modeled for the original metal Bambu scraper. It's cheaper to buy plastic blades since you can find them for as low as $3 for 100 blades which are also double sided. You can also swap them out without needing to unscrew. The edge of the printed scrapers I find aren't that durable, I recommend saving time and filament and just buy the blades.
