Introducing the Heavy Second Core Mecha!

A new generation of my mecha model kits, this is my largest design by far and implements TPU joint sockets for posability and longevity.

 

The Heavy Second Core Mecha stands over a foot tall and has been designed for multi-color and multi-material printing on the Bambu Lab H2C. It features 4 colors in PLA and TPU for AMS, all mixed into one design with 47 total parts. Like my other designs, it does not need supports and uses no hardware or glue by utilizing snap-fit joints.

 

The Heavy Second Core Mecha is a full multi-color and multi-material model kit that utilizes the Bambu Lab AMS and the H2C Vortek System. It can be printed in various ways, including:

  • Full Color with TPU for AMS - H2C without purge (other printers can print it, with purge)
    • 100% Size
    • 75% Size
    • 50% Size
  • Single Color with TPU for AMS - H2D without purge
    • 100% Size
    • 75% Size
    • 50% Size
  • Single Material (PLA/PETG/ABS/etc) - Any printer
    • 75% Size
    • 100% and 50% Size not recommended (joints too tight or too loose)

The joints are designed to use TPU for AMS in the sockets for tight but movable parts. The joints can be used without TPU for AMS, but it's recommended to print at 75% size for single material prints.

 

With the H2D or H2C, you'll be able to fully utilize the TPU joints and with the H2C you can print the full multi-color model in all its glory!
