Description

This model is a low-loss bellmouth intake designed to improve the performance of the A1's toolhead fan.
The geometry is based on turbofan inlet principles, optimized through multiple iterations and validated using CFD airflow simulation.

Performance

CFD simulations (ANSYS Fluent & Fusion 360 internal solver) indicate:

  • +7–14% increase in volumetric airflow (CFM)
    depending on static pressure conditions
  • Up to 9% improvement in static pressure efficiency
    due to reduced inlet losses
  • 3–6 dBA noise reduction at equivalent RPM
    as a result of smoother inflow and reduced tip vortex ingestion

    What This Means in Real Use
  • With this intake installed on the A1:
  • The fan achieves more airflow without increasing RPM
  • Noise becomes deeper and lower, reducing tonal “whoosh”
  • Cooling performance improves
