Swamp Thing V1 - 90s Mighty Max Inspired Play Set

I give you Swamp Thing!

This is a passion project I have been working on based on the original Mighty Max Horror Head toys by Bluebird from the 1990s, As you can see there have been lots of trials and error to get to this point where I feel it can be uploaded. I did have two versions but one of them got lost when my tablet broke :(

Due to the lengthy time of development of this project if this one gets enough love with boosts and downloads I will bring new versions.

This is based on Horror Heads, full size shells closer to Doom Zones and also mini shells closer to Shrunken Heads and Dread Heads are also possibilities in the future.

The little Max Like figure also helps complete sets that have no figures as a bonus just to fill the void until a real Max can be sourced!

Compatibility

This is designed to be compatible with any original playset Max figures however there are no guarentees beacsue I have several  of the original sets and each figure fits differently, I figure this is due to age and use of the original toys. 

Details of the print and fitment

Due to the size of the sets and the descrepencies between printers I opted for a slightly tighter fit with the figures so they aren't too loose and can be lightly sanded (between the feet) for the best fit possible however this isn't always nessicary, I have printed quite a few that just snapped into place.

To attach the head to the shell I just used a peice of filliment and melted the ends flat, this is not the best solution as its a little loose but it works well enough. I was looking to fit it together with a machine screw and nut such as something like an M3 around an inch long to give more of a precsise stiffnes to te opening and closing.  (Ideas welcome!!).

Test fit

TIPS

• Print using most types of PLA for best results.

• Always allow build plate and print to cool down before removing.

• Please ensure a clean print bed, when models dont adhere to a build plate its usually user error.

• Please as always remove  supports with care

• Use sprue cutters to help remove supports

• If you accidentaly break something save fillament and use some CA glue instead of throwing a project out and reprinting.

• Remember this is a hobby! Have fun, be kind and support your favourite designers with likes, follows and boosts
