Description

Adjustable peg-style stand for educational spheres with a center hole. Fully parametric OpenSCAD model — fits any sphere size.

This adjustable stand is designed for spheres that have a center hole, such as educational planet models, Moon–Earth sets, molecule assemblies, or any hollow sphere used in classrooms and workshops.

Unlike decorative display stands, this model uses a peg-style connector that inserts directly into the sphere, giving excellent stability, durability, and child-friendly handling during lessons and demonstrations.

The model is fully parametric in OpenSCAD.

Using the MakerWorld Customizer, you can easily set the parameters.

The printed stand in the photos is generated using the OPenSCAD code (the width of the top part of the stand is 7.6 mm, and its overall height is 3 cm; it fits spheres with holes of about 8 mm in diameter). The included example sphere file (with a matching hole) demonstrates the intended fit.

This design is ideal for:

  • planet models (Earth, Moon, Mars…)
  • atom & molecule models
  • physics demonstrations
  • school projects
  • STEM workshops
  • museums & mobile setups

Created entirely in OpenSCAD and designed with real classroom use in mind — stable, clean, and durable.
