Perfect for D&D, DnD, Pathfinder, and any fantasy skirmish or tabletop RPG system.
I design PlayerX miniatures for reliable FDM printing, strong tabletop durability, and clean detail at standard 28–32mm scale. My models are built with practical supports, durable geometry, and strong silhouettes so they print cleanly and hold up during real gameplay.

Description:
You all know I enjoy making Giants, so here’s another Hill Giant for the collection. I wanted to test a new paint and wash set that I came across while searching for miniature paints online. This sculpt felt like the perfect test piece since I’ve painted many giants using Army Painter, Vallejo, and several premium and budget lines.
Aside from the primer (Vallejo), the entire model was painted using the Last Hope Paints and Wash Set. The only reason I’m sharing this is because the budget-friendly (was $45ish after discount code or at least at the time of this posting) set actually worked surprisingly well for the price. It’s a much more affordable option that’s worth checking out for anyone who doesn’t want to spend an arm and a leg on paints like I have. (Photo above shows the paint boxes and sets.)
Last Hope Paint and Wash Review:
I bought this paint set out of curiosity after it appeared while I was searching for DnD minis. A quick Google search showed mixed opinions across Reddit, BoardGameGeek, and YouTube, where one reviewer even went so far as to call it a scam. Still, with 50 paints and 10 washes for the price, I figured it was worth testing. Worst case, it would just join my craft paints. I have spent hundreds on other lines, so this felt like a safe gamble.
As many of you know, I create a lot of tabletop minis here on MakerWorld and go through plenty of paint. I have used nearly every major brand along with several budget options. For this giant, I primed it with my go-to Vallejo primer since it is a reliable baseline for comparison. One coat of these paints did not fully cover, but two coats did an admirable job. The paints go on smoothly and mix easily, though they definitely need a good shake before use to keep the consistency even. They dry to a clean semi gloss finish, something I do not mind, but some painters may prefer a flatter look. I tested both AK Interactive Matte Varnish and Matte Medium, and either worked well to tone down the shine.
The washes were also better than expected, settling naturally into the details without over darkening or leaving residue. Overall, this set performs far above its price point. It fills that middle ground between inexpensive craft paints and premium hobby paints perfectly. I am sharing this to hopefully help other hobbyists like me save a few bucks because not every model needs competition level paint to look great.
Name: Grunvar of the Stonebelly Clan
Backstory:
Among the lowland tribes, few names are spoken with more frustration—or fear—than Grunvar of the Stonebelly Clan. Towering over boulders and smelling faintly of roasted elk and wet leather, Grunvar once made his home along the canyon trails between Eldharbor and Stonefang Pass.
Known to travelers as The Cliff-Breaker for his habit of smashing chunks of mountain loose to block trade routes, Grunvar was not driven by hatred or greed. He simply believed the land itself belonged to the giants and that no road, wall, or bridge built by smaller folk should stand upon it. Over time, his “territorial maintenance” became an obsession, reshaping the cliffs and carving the crumbling passes still feared today.
Legend tells of a small band of adventurers who dared to rebuild a collapsed bridge in his territory. The bridge still stands but carved into the stone beneath it is a massive handprint, blackened and fused into the rock where Grunvar’s final strike failed to land.
