Description

With the autumn now here, our garden is full of brown leaves. This makes the task of spotting dog poop extremely difficult - even with a decent leaf blower! Having spoken to Einhell directly at trade shows they have confirmed that they do not have a concentrating wide nozzle available and will not be making one - step in the 3D printer!

I have designed the nozzle to be a snug fit, and it snaps nicely into place. You'll need to slightly open up the locking tabs around the nubs of the leaf blower tube (easier shown than described) in order to get the nozzle off again. I've printed in PLA and have had no issues with strength.

The end of the nozzle is not as thin as it could be as I found that constricting the end too much only slowed down the blower fan and didn't offer any increased air pressure out the end. This won't make your blower more powerful, but what it will do is give you a lovely wide blade of air which reduces the number of passes you need to move all of the leaves. I find that I can clear the garden much faster with this on.

I highly recommend printing at an angle as in the 3mf file. If you print the nozzle standing straight up then it will print slightly faster and use less filament, but all of the potential stresses it will undergo will then be directed down layer lines, and I have had a number of prototypes fail because of this. I have tried to tune the print angle so that it is a balance of minimal print time and material cost versus improved strength.

I also recommend printing with at least a 0.28mm layer height to ensure good strength and also reduce print time.

Let me know if there are any changes that you'd like to see - we have been enjoying using the “Poo Finder 5000” with this attached and I hope you do too!
