Description

This is the cranium and mandible of a “mini pig” segmented by me in 3D Slicer from a CT scan made available on Embodi3D by user OffriL under CCA license. Bones are segmented separately for printing and are life size and solid (no internal anatomy).

I recently learned that any pig smaller than a domestic farm pig is a “mini pig.” This skull is big and barely fits on my A1 so be aware this is not a tiny pig! Also if you decide to change the orientation, you might need to scale it down, depending on your printer.

Printing:

I used eSun bone white PLA which is not matte, but the supports still came off pretty easily.

  • 0.20 mm layers, 2 walls, 10% gyroid infill
  • tree supports at 30
    • initial layer expansion = 5 mm
    • top z distance = 0.2
    • top interface layers =2
    • top interface spacing = 2
    • branch diameter = 2

This was not a super high resolution CT scan, but the model still has nice detail. The original CT had a hole in the forehead and I have closed that up.

Generic 3mf on Printables.
