Description
Poker Dice - these can be used to play poker dice or liar dice, each side of the dice have King, Queen, Jack, Ace, Ten & Nine. Here are the rules: https://www.britannica.com/topic/Liar-Dice
These dice are split into the 6 faces with a central cube to push them in to. This is because they look much better printed face down and I was trying to minimize color changing. The faces are quite difficult to push into the central cube by design so that they stay there when pushed in. You can push them in with a bit of effort or use a flat object to help push. Alternatively it is easy if you use a vice to gently sqeeze two opposite faces at once.
I printed these on a smooth plate (the engineered one with the stars so they sparkle) with a 0.2 nozzle set at 0.14mm. It was quite important to have the wall generator on Arachne so that the dice faces look ok. The total print time was 6 hours for the 5 dice at a cost of less than $1
I've got a bunch of different options in the 3mf files depending on what you want to do:
- Plate 1: 5 of the 6 dice faces in Red, Blue & Black (and white)
- Plate 2: The final 6th face in Green (and white) and the central cube
- Plate 3: No AMS solid version where the dice faces are inset into the cube (doesn't look as good, but still useable or paintable)
- Plate 4: Single dice with all faces (needs 5 colours)
- Plate 5: Single solid dice with all faces (needs 5 colours) - no assembly required but doesn't print as nice and takes 15h
