• Switched back to a single-piece, no-glue design for strength and simplicity
• Added a sun-themed axe and cleaner sabertooth skull
• Reworked base with brick pavers for better visuals and painting
• Improved overall support placement for cleaner prints (axe, cape, loincloth, arm)
• Fine-tuned geometry for stronger details and smoother printing

10/22/25: V3 is on the way soon. I want this one to be perfect and to address the last few details. I’m using this chance not only to improve print supports and quality but also to enhance the overall design. This has been my most challenging project yet, but I’m not stopping here. Tauren Paladin V2 Profile and Model: Complete Overhaul is LIVE! (Super Glue Required) 

The Tauren Paladin V2 has been completely reworded and redesigned! I focused on a new pose, updated features, and enhanced armor to make the model much more print-friendly.

Key changes in this version include:

• New Pose: The extended hand now makes a "come here" motion, showing the Tauren Paladin taunting his evil foe.
• Weapon Updates:
  • The axe is now positioned upright.
  • The axe shaft is thicker, and the axe head is bigger.
  • The axe top now prints detached for easy attachment with super glue after printing.
• Armor and Features:
  • Armor has been updated to more closely match the original requests by @TWINKIEminer.
  • The horns are thicker, and the feet are bigger.
  • The loincloth has been moved up and features better support to avoid stringing and misprints.
  • The sabertooth skull (optional) also prints detached for easy post-print attachment with super glue.

Tauren Paladin — PlayerX

I created this Tauren Paladin beast at the request of one of my most loyal followers and fellow mini painting enthusiasts (amazing mini painter btw), @TWINKIEminer.

Description

A towering Tauren Paladin standing as both warrior and protector, forged in faith and battle. This model captures the essence of divine strength with heavy armor engraved in sunburst symbols, a sabertooth skull adorning one pauldron, and a massive war axe held firm in his grasp. Every plate and fold is sculpted with weight and purpose, creating a miniature that commands presence both on the table and the shelf.

Designed for durability and consistent FDM results, this piece balances heroic proportion with clean print geometry. The pose is grounded, confident, and full of quiet power, a living symbol of endurance and conviction.

Backstory

Among the scattered tribes of the high plains, tales speak of Rento Blackhoof, a paladin who turned the old gods’ strength toward mercy. Once a proud warlord, Rento found his purpose when the light of the sun pierced through his rage. He cast aside conquest and swore himself to the path of redemption, carrying a hammer not for vengeance but for justice.

Wherever darkness falls, the echo of hooves follows. Rento does not shout his faith; he lives it. Every strike of his weapon is a prayer, and every act of defense is a vow renewed. The sabertooth skull upon his shoulder reminds him of the beast he once was and the light he now serves.

Painting Advice

• Prime in black or dark gray to emphasize the Paladin’s mass and shadow.
• Layer armor plates with gunmetal, bronze, and muted gold tones, then dry brush silver highlights to catch the edges.
• For the fur, mix warm brown with dark umber washes and light tan highlights.
• The sabertooth skull looks best with aged bone tones followed by a light sepia wash to bring out texture.
• Cloth and tabard areas pop beautifully with deep crimson or rust red layered beneath subtle weathering.
• Finish the weapon head with metallic steel and a faint blue glaze to echo divine energy, then edge the runes in silver for a subtle glow.
