Description
I designed a convenient tray for growing microgreens. This version is optimized for pea shoots (large seeds), but you can place a non-woven fabric at the bottom if you want to grow microgreens with smaller seeds. A water-level inspection hole is included for easy monitoring.
The set includes:
- Tray
- Seed grid
- Germination lid
Recommended printing:
Print the tray with PETG for waterproof properties.
Print the grid without bottom or top, using 10–20% honeycomb infill, depending on your preferred hole size.
It's best to print the lid in black (or another dark filament) to block light during sprouting.
Growing process:
- Soak pea seeds in water for 6–12 hours.
- Spread the soaked peas in the seed grid in a single layer. Pour water into the tray so it doesn't touch the grid. Cover with the lid.
- Wait a few days until the stems start to grow and the lid begins to lift. Once a day open the lid, spray the seeds with water, and make sure there's always water in the tray.
- Remove the lid to expose your microgreens to sunlight.
- When the microgreens reach the desired size, cut and add them to your favorite dishes.
- After harvesting, cut the roots from below, wash the tray, and repeat the process.
