Description

This pattern kit is designed to work with the Interlocking Bar Soap Mold. It has four paddles for different designs, although I've only used two so far. If you're using the mold with a liner, the kit probably won't work for you. I've also never tried the kit with melt-and-pour soap, but I see no reason why it wouldn't.

Since you have to use the paddles at light trace, you need to prep the mold first to reduce leakage.

  1. Coat the flat parts that mate together with a thin coat of soap. I use a puck of my shaving soap because it's very soft.

  2. Coat the ledge on the base with a thicker coat of soap and assemble the mold.

  3. Insert the stem through the bottom of the plate and drop into the mold.
  4. Place the funnel on top of the mold with the stem running through the hole.

Now that everything is ready, alternate pouring your colored soap into the funnel. It will flow down the stem into layers. Pouring soap onto the inside edges of the mold without using the funnel would probably result in some interesting patterns as well. When full, slowly and steadily pull the stem and paddle from the soap. Finally, post pictures of your soap below.
