This is the version 2.0 of the Original

AMS Lite Coupler ARMOUR HUB fix

for A1 & A1 Mini

!!! NOW EVEN BETTER !!!

What you need to know: The hub plays an important role in managing the filament if it's jammed, for example.
So it's important that nothing interferes with the hub's performance.

MY design is optimized to protect the hub from bending while also allowing for proper up-and-down movement.

Be wary of designs that have HUB shells that are too tight, you are creating problems for your machine.

UPDATE 21.10.2025

Added profile for those looking for something narrower, this version adds internal shims.

UPDATE 19.10.2025

Added specific print profiles for PETG and PLA.

Added optimized profiles to avoid glossier areas due to flow changes in small areas.

Thank you so much for your Downloads, Like and BOOSTS!

Following the success and overwhelming praise I received for the first version i designed, and thanks to the feedback I received, I'm happy to present VERSION 2!

This version has been improved by adding a wing that provides a larger support area, making it even more stable.
I created two more side openings to reduce the material used; it now weighs only 7g! All this without affecting the strength.

The installation is very simple:

After removing the PTFE tubes, simply push the armour alongside  the hub, done!

No accessories required, print and install, easy peasy!

Recommended filament:
I personally used PETG, which is much stronger and more durable than PLA.
Supports are required for the cantilevered part of the wing.

Please note that:

The print profiles are optimized to avoid aesthetic defects caused by changes in print flow near small areas. When the speed changes, the filament becomes more or less shiny. This is merely an aesthetic issue and does not affect print quality.
To resolve this, simply maintain a constant print speed.
Print time is not significantly affected.

It could be a millimeter tighter as it sits quite loosely but it does what it is supposed to I might glue in a thin piece of foam for a perfect fit

As my AMS is loaded backwards I was looking for something to stabilise it better. The print came out great and sideways its now much more stable, but still a wooble back and forth. I also aded a haloween themed version.

Thanks for the appreciation! Very nice Halloween themed 😊 The wobble is normal, it needs that little gap, because if it were too tight on the hub, it would no longer allow it to move up and down. Now it is protected from the stresses caused by the PTFE tubes and filaments that pull the hub to the sides, without interfering with the 'natural' work of the hub.😊

Turned out nice! Printed in PETG, still a little loose but a lot better than without any type of support.

With a little tweaking, it was perfect. I've shared the perfect support settings for PETG or PLA. It fits very securely in place, and there's only about 1mm of room left and right to wiggle. Also, scale as follows: X: 97.08% (19.88mm) Y: 97.08% (26.44mm) Z: 100% (50.50mm)
