Description
Are you ready to make your front porch the spookiest on the block? Forget the same old plastic pumpkin—I'm thrilled to share my latest functional print design: The Chomp Cauldron.
This isn't just a container; it's an interactive Halloween prop!
I designed this cauldron with a cool, mechanical secret: a set of toothy jaws that snap shut the moment it is set down on a surface! It's designed to look like it's trying to keep the candy for itself, providing a fun, surprising, and slightly scary trick for your treaters. You can also operate the action manually for a dramatic effect!

Key Features You'll Love:
The Bite: The star of the show! A unique, self-closing mechanism that engages when the cauldron is placed on a table.
Perfect Prop: It’s a great talking piece that adds an element of surprise to your candy handout.
Print-Ready: Designed for minimal supports and a fun, straightforward assembly.
This thing is big and it is bad. I had this idea last Halloween and I have been tinkering with it ever since to bring it to life. This is designed to basically be a bed-max print for P1, X1, and A1 printers (sorry A1 minis). It's easy to assemble and does not require any hardware or tools, although there are provisions to add some screws in strategic areas if you desire.

The function is deceptively simple with two “T-bars” that extend through the feet and when pressed in, close the teeth. The effect is that whenever it is set on a table it closes it's teeth and then opens whenever picked up. You can also push the bar in while holding it to operate it manually.
I had a blast designing this and can’t wait to see your prints! Tag me in your pictures and let me know if you used classic black, neon green, or a even glow-in-the-dark filament!

I am still a relative noob at 3d modeling and design, and this is probably the most complex thing I have ever made. I have included a separate assembly guide, but overall it should be fairly easy to figure out. If you run into issues please let me know, I will do what I can to assist, or even make tweaks to the design if anything proves to be problematic. Thank you for checking out my cauldron, and Happy Halloween!
