Description

Glare Shield for Bambu A1

Features:

  • Reduce glare by covering most of the white parts that cause the Bambu A1 camera to underexpose the actual print area.
  • Optimized to be less wasteful on filament.
  • Minimal and elegant (IMO). Printable in spiral vase mode.

Installation:

Snaps onto the bottom cavity of the printer with a snug fit.

Notes on print profile:

  • Please print with black filament.
  • I'm using matte black PETG, but PLA should work too if the environment isn't too hot.
  • I'm using CryoGrip build plate for improved bed adhesion; otherwise I would suggest adding a brim.
  • I'm also using a 0.6 nozzle to take full advantage of spiral vase mode (1mm thickness with 0.6 nozzle in vase mode produces a solid instead of a hollow part).
    • Vase mode produced less stringing.
    • 0.4 nozzle with vase mode produces a hollow part, which is also fine.
  • A thicker model print profile designed for non-vase mode is also included.

Looks great so far, printed in PLA so curious on how much it may sag over time due to heat.

After wearing it, I don't know when, it interfered with the nozzle and got scratched. Why?

Printed in vase mode, the shield doesnt stay firm, theres a large gap. but the worst thing is that the part under the printer blocked the rods or something, the bed started making loud bangs and all axes were stucked, no homing possible.

Has the plate the space for nozzle clogging check?

should be fine. i've been using it since and never see the nozzle colliding with it.

What is the space between the build plate and the manufactured part I have a 5mm thick build plate guide and I suppose that it won't fit is it possible to make a version less close to the build plate

the clearance is just about 5mm; i suggest to cut a small part in slicer and print it to check if it's wide enough for your set up. i could probably make one with wider clearance down the road.
