Bi-Fold Closet Door Lower Bracket Support
Print Profile(1)

Description
This is a support block for the lower bracket for many manufacturers of bifold closet doors. I designed this specifically for Mastercraft doors from Menards but a google search shows other brands are similar if not the same shape.
Every time I have installed bifold doors into a carpeted room, the weight of the bifold doors bends the bracket down into the carpet pile. This shim fits into the bracket to prevent that from happening. It has a hole in it so you can still drive a screw into the subfloor and the slot in it will not interfere with door adjustment. Frankly I don't see why this part isn't molded and included in the hardware bag with the doors. I have spoken to home builders who say they also have to fabricate a shim when doors are installed on carpet. This part should work on smooth floors too if you need to get the bracket up a little.
Also included are a 5 degree and 10 degree wedge if your jambs are out of square like mine were.
