V3.0 Update 12/5/25:

-AMS 1 or 2 now Supported!

-Trimming and adjustment of model to allow for use in both the AMS 1 and AMS 2 Pro.

Update 3/10/24:

Spool Weight
No change to spool adapter but based on feedback, on issues with very small/light spools like the 120mm ones, I've remixed and tested spool weight that sits inside the spools hole and adds some extra weight to prevent the spool from hopping on the forward AMS roller and getting stuck.  This isn't so much an  issue with the spool adapter, more then an issue with the AMS's design being prone to this issue which I've experience on larger spools as well without the adapter in use, but regardless, the weight should help.

V2.1 Update 2/20/24:

-Added small extension ‘arms’ forward of 120mm slot to limit side to side movement off the roller when using small/narrow spools.

-Additional reworking and shaving of roller slot side brackets to provide better fitment when two adapters are installed side-by-side.

V2 - Update 2/11/24

Reworked the model a bit to merge both 120mm and 160mm version into a single adjustable spool adapter that maintains the support system under the adapter, as well as my other improvements. Also integrated the Bambu Lab logo that gives it nice, finished look.

Based upon excellent work by @fredck_445523 and @BilliePalmer_544273.

I likes the improvements made here but had two problems. First one of the legs would repeatedly break off half way through printing, no matter what settings I adjusted. Second, I found that it didn't even end up fitting the spool size I needed as I have several 120mm spools of SUNLU PETG .25Kg that I wanted a better solution for then the giant wheel/spool adapter I'd previously tried. After a bit of tweaking, I feel I've both improved on the original design and have addressed the issue of the leg breaking off by adding an additional arched brace between both sides' legs, that keeps everything held together from the very beginning of print and eliminates all issues with the leg breaking off.

I wanted this to work so badly… I thought it was the perfect solution for the 2- 8 packs of mini Sunlu spools I have. Moving the roller to either spot… neither work, the spool is just too narrow to go on either side of the filament feeder module to reach the front roller. Assuming it works on other smaller spools, seems others have much success with it. Just doesn’t work on these ones.

Far superior than any "Small spool Adapter" , with only 25 Grams, faster to install, no gimmicks amazing! first time I give 2 boosts Printed all in PLA CF with the stock Bambu standard print preset and removing all the painted logos

Works well with 250g spools - however, the retraction can be a bit cumbersome if switching filaments or at the end of the print - most of the time it works, but probably 15-20% chance you'll need to babysit. Might be the 250g plastic sunlu spools I have. However, If printing one color on smaller spool - expect no issues. Exactly what I needed for old petg sample spools I had laying around.

This works great! Fits very well, and lets me use those 250g spools I ordered by mistake.

Printed and fit PERFECTLY!!! Used almost all original settings (cant remember what I changed, for my own preference). Slips into place easily and snug, and holds roller firmly in whichever position it is placed. Unfortunately, I don't currently have any open small rolls, but that should be "remedied" in the next few days. I'll be printing 3 more of these, for the other AMS positions also!!! Printed in Overture PLA Orange and Bambu Basic PLA Black.

Amazing! I tried to print the original model 3 times with different settings and the legs broke off every single time. This one worked flawlessly.

Good model but it still requires the spools to be wide enough, so I wasn’t able to make it work with 250g spools

Gray PETG, P1S - printed great, fits really well into the AMS. The roller in the front spot allows me to print the quarter Kg rolls I got in a combo from Elegoo.
