Looking for reliable and affordable vacation watering for my houseplants, I designed this cover. This allows an AQUAvalve5 to be operated safely in a standard plant tray, tray, or even a box – essentially a DIY easy2go setup. The AQUAvalve5 works completely without electricity – just with physics– and has proven to be a robust solution for me.

The idea came about because I had a few valves left and wanted a flexible solution for different tray sizes. The cover fixes the valve in place, protects it, and also adds a little additional weight so nothing slips.

Printing & Material:

  • PETG recommended (robust, moisture and temperature tolerant); alternatively ABS/ASA, PLA at your own risk.
  • Layer height ~0.2 mm, infill 20–30%, 3–4 perimeter.
  • Orientation: Top side up, no supports needed.
  • After printing, briefly deburr/check that everything lies flat.

How to use it:
Connect the valve to the tank, place it in the plant tray, put on the cover – and your vacation watering is ready. For longer absences, I recommend a short 24–48-hour test run to check flow and water level.

Compatibility Note:
Compatible with AQUAvalve5. Not an original part, no connection to AutoPot; brand names are used exclusively for compatibility indication.

If the design helps you or if you have suggestions for improvement, feel free to leave feedback or a photo of your setup – have fun watering-without-watering!
