Boost to let me know this big project was worth it!

I created this set in blender, with interactive elements  to make for a great gaming environment.

This set consists of 15 unique parts, which include:

  • A wooden rack
  • An interactive iron maiden which fits a small mini inside
  • A barrel
  • 6x 50mm wide plain walls
  • 2x 62.5mm wide plain walls
  • A wall with a door opening
  • A wall with tools of the dungeon master
  • A wall with chains hanging from it
  • A wall with shackles
  • A wall with a small rat hole in the base
  • A wall with loose bricks
  • 8x 50mmx50mm tiled floors
  • 4x 50mmx25mm tiled floors
  • 4x jail bar walls
  • A swinging jail bar door

Parts take between 35 mins and 1 hour 50 each to print. Printing all parts to make the dungeon is just under 2 days.

A couple of assembly notes:

  • The jail door clips into hols in the frame. The upper hole may have support material in it, clear this with thin pliers or a sharp point such as a pin.
  • The iron maiden doors are designed to be hinged with a piece of paperclip through the lined up hinge holes.

The parts use openlock bases, which can be found here. You will need to print the openlock clips to hold the parts together.

For V8 Openlock tiles, to clip sections together, remove the upright parts - cuts shown as red lines in final image. You can use thin pliers for this.

Dungeon stats (intended for 5E D&D)

Your party have found themselves on the wrong side of a local lord, and have been thrown into the dungeon!

You are all in the large cell, watching as Boblin the goblin is enclosed in the iron maiden, you must escape and help him..

Methods of escape

Bars of the cell - The bars are especially thick and will require a DC25 strength check to bend. This is reduced to DC20 if any character has access to a crowbar.

The loose bricks - If a character inspects the walls they can roll an investigation check, DC14, to find the loose bricks. These can be pushed out with a DC18 strength check, but timing is key so the guards do not hear the commotion!

The rat hole - A character with a passive perception of 15 or higher will notice rats coming and going through the rat hole - a druid can wildshape out if they have a small enough wildshape.

Fleecing a guard - This one is up to your imagination!

Iron maiden damage

Alter the damage inflicted by the iron maiden to suit your party. As a base, 3d6 piercing at the start of the turn, with a DC20 strength check to escape would be hard, but fair.

I hope you enjoy this set, if you want more terrain sets please tell me!

The rest of the openlock terrain I have made can be found here.

I have other Terrain and Scatter. I also have a lot of bases, and some minis.

Happy gaming!
