Description

8x4x1 slot for a Canon LP-E6 charger with (and without) cable passthrough.
You can leave your charger in the case while loading from now on and it's always there and ready if you tend to forget to charge your batteries before a shoot like me.

One plate has the charger with the cable passthrough, the other has none; choose the one you need.

🧩 OpenCase – Modular Insert System for Gear Cases
OpenCase is a modular insert system designed for gear cases with 15 x15 mm grid cube foam. Instead of crumbly foam or roughly torn cubes, you get precise TPU parts that hold your gear securely, durably, and in a more space-efficient way.

The system is parametric by design:

Every insert is based on the same grid size and can be combined freely. This way you can customize your case step by step, and simply replace individual parts if needed.

Features:

🧱 Compatible with 15 mm cube foam grid

🔄 Modular & expandable – part of the OpenCase system

⚡️ Space-saving - fits more gear in your case

🛡️ Durable & long-lasting - TPU recommended for optimal safety

🔌 Optional cable passthroughs e.g. for chargers

This is an evolving project – more modules will be added over time.

OpenCase is designed with cube foam dimensions of 15 x 15 mm and a foam layer height of 50 mm in mind, which is what most cases use. Although Open case can be used with different foam layer heights, the size is specified as a multiple of the grid.

So 4x2x1 means 60 x 30 x 50 mm. This makes it easier to measure spaces in your case.

Remixes and your own creations are allowed, but should be visibly tagged with “OpenCase” so we can all find the parts and benefit off each others work. I will happily send you the logo, or a template as PSD/TIF for the title image.
