Bringing the heat with my new dragon model, I'm so excited with how the fiery breath turned out. What do you think?

I wanted to create a flying dragon and make it feel epic by adding a light effect. I sketched many designs on my iPad before deciding to use the dragon’s flame as the light source. At first, I tried an LED tea candle, but it wasn’t bright enough, so I upgraded to an LED lamp kit from Maker’s Supply.

I measured it, designed a slot for it, and went through a few trial-and-error prints (I reprinted the fire three times!) before I was happy with the final model. To make the flame look realistic, I designed some areas thicker and others thinner so the LED light would shine through with variation, just like real fire.
I also added lots of small details to the dragon itself to make it more striking, and I couldn’t resist painting it to bring everything to life. It was a lot of fun adding those tiny touches.
Here is a video showing my process from design to the final result.
I hope you enjoy this build as much as I did making it! Please also check out my other models.
