Cartwheel XL, No AMS - two colours

I carefully designed this wooden cartwheel, based on real life photos. This type of wheel has been used for a long time in all kinds of places. It uses metal bands to make the wheel stronger and more durable. 

This is an extra large scale 1/10 design. The model can be printed in two colours without using AMS. One build plate contains the wooden parts, the second plate has the metal parts.  

Assembly is quite easy and straightforward: 

• Place the 4 quarters of the wheel together on the table
• Carefully push the metal rim over the sides to contain them (works best if you start from one point moving your thumbs along both sides simultaneously)
• Place the axle tube in the center
• Slide the remaining wooden parts over either side of the tube (tube is designed to be a little shorter than the hub) 
• Slide the small metal bands over the sides of the hub

The remaining tiny part resembles the locking nut to keep the wheel on the cart axle. This can be placed onto the outside of the axle tube if the wheel is mounted to a cart. 

Except for the locking nut, all parts should hold together without glue. However, if you want to play around with it, just use a little glue to fix the parts in place. 

Note: I have tried various orientations for the 4 wheel quarters. The current orientation gave the best overall result. The overhanging parts can be improved with some sanding.
