Summary

Want a tiny M67 Frag Grenade that looks realistic and has a handle that flies off when you pull the pin?  If so you'll want to check out this model -- it also has an optional keychain attachment.  This is a scale model of the famous M-67 Frag Grenade, used by the US Army, Marines, NATO, and many other countries.  The model only takes seconds to put together – pop a spring in and screw on the top, that's it (pen and pencil springs work just fine).

Background: The M67 is the standard fragmentation hand grenade used by the United States military, first introduced in 1968. It has a spherical steel body that contains an explosive charge, which fragments upon detonation to produce casualties. The grenade is fitted with a pyrotechnic delay fuze that detonates approximately four to five seconds after the safety lever is released.

Spring options

You have a lot of options for the spring:

  1. Pen spring – most pen and pencil springs will work just fine for this – best strategy is to cut the pen spring in half so it fits better and you get two springs!
  2. Get a pack of springs on Amazon (here's a link) – these are exactly the right size, just pop them in.
  3. Get the 3x10mm spring from Maker's Supply (link on this page above the description on web or below in the app)

Bambu filament used

  • Matte Dark Green
  • Silk+ Silver
  • Metal Copper

Assembly

1. Insert the little peg into the top and insert the spring into the grenade top (image shows the Mk2 grenade, but its the same instructions)

2. Then screw the top onto the grenade (I found it easiest to do sideways)

Boost Me (for free)

If you enjoy my work and would like to help support my ability to share more (and even better) models in the future, please consider boosting or buying me a coffee at the link below.   Your support is what helps me have enough filament and supplies to do all the print testing required for my models to be high quality and easy to assemble.  It takes a mountain of test prints for each model. Thanks :-)
