Description

This is a 1:1 scale model of the M67 Frag Grenade used by many armies throughout the world. This grenade has articulated pin and handle – the handle can be optionally configured ot be spring loaded and fly off when released.

( ! ) Do not sell my prints — I have not authorized selling prints.  If you sell my prints on Etsy, Amazon, eBay, etc, I will find out.

The model is easy to snap together, no glue is required.

Bambu filaments used were:

  • Matte Dark Green
  • Matte Yellow for the text on the top
  • Silk Silver
  • Metal Iridium Gold

Follow the diagram below for assembly and let me know in the comments if you need any help.  Note that its easiest to attach the silver top upside down so the spring doesn't fall out.

This is brilliant. Printed well on my P1S in various PLA, minimal supports (only the clip and ring/pin). I don't know why I wanted to print this but I'm glad I did. The spring from a ball point pen works just as well. As an addendum, the clip broke when showing it to friends, I wonder if it would be better to make it thicker?

Thanks for tip on the pen the Spring!

I think printing it sideways will make the handle stronger, it will take more support but it should make it stronger

thanks for the pen spring tip!

I think this is great, but the spoon needs a little fixing so I just modeled it so it is a little stronger. (This is on my print profile for anyone else who needs it)

supports were so hard to get off

Which supports did you have trouble getting off?

all of them mostly the top part where the spring goes

If you are using the 3MF file provided then it should have removed the supports from the vertical holes like where the spring goes and where the peg goes (if it isn't let me know and I'll fix that). If you are setting up your own file I would recommend turning off supports by using support painting for those two holes because it is almost impossible to remove if you don't.

looks and work really nice! Can you design a stun grenade and a smoke grenade that have the key thing that flings the top of when pulled? I would love to print those too, they would go well all together

Thanks! I'm not sure what you mean by the key thing that flings the top? Do you mean that it would do the same thing as this grenade where the spoon handle flies off? Or are you talking about something different?

it printed very well! the pegs were very tight so I had to use a small rubber mallet to get the top and bottom attached, but it’s looking good now

Glad you got it to work, when I was doing tolerance testing in the design process for the grenade I had to make the peg just a little bit tighter because otherwise the spring would always cause the top to fly right off lol.

ya I’d always rather have to do a bit of sanding than have it not right enough

Best Christmas tree ornament. Never used before, guaranteed .. Easy print, for a noob, and with a small spring from a ballpoint pen, the handle flew gently on release. The Christmas tree might even survive this one ..

That's a fun idea to use it as an ornament.
