Description

The Mini Fractal Vice is a compact, mechanically fascinating device inspired by fractal geometry. Designed to grip objects evenly across its jaws, it offers a unique combination of function and form. Whether you're looking for a visually intriguing desk piece, a light-duty clamping tool, or an educational model to demonstrate geometric or mechanical principles, this project delivers a satisfying build and a smooth motion once assembled.

Assembly Instructions: Fractal Vice Assembly Instructions

The model is entirely 3D printed and assembled without glue or fasteners, relying on snug friction fits to hold everything in place. While most of the assembly is straightforward, some joints may feel stiff initially. This is expected. Gently twisting or moving the joints will help loosen them over time, and the movement will become smoother with use. It is extremely important to clean up any overhangs or excess filament from the printed parts before beginning assembly. Uncleaned edges can cause the parts to stick or bind, making the mechanism difficult to operate. A hobby knife or light sanding is usually sufficient to ensure proper fit and smooth sliding. Once completed, the Mini Fractal Vice makes a striking and functional addition to any workspace or maker collection.
