A printable cable gland for passing cables through enclosures.
The design uses a compressing TPU sleeve to grip the cable and a TPU gasket to seal against the panel — providing splash protection and strain relief.

🧩 Parts

  1. Inner Screw / Body – PETG
  2. Cap – PETG
  3. End Screw / Panel Nut – PETG
  4. TPU Gasket – TPU
  5. TPU Cable Sleeve – TPU

🖨️ Print Settings

  • Material:
    • PETG for parts 1–3 (PLA is not recommended – too brittle for threads & compression).
    • TPU for parts 4–5.
  • Layer Height: 0.20 mm
  • Nozzle: 0.4 mm
  • Walls: 3
  • Infill: 15 % (both PETG and TPU)
  • Supports: ❌ Not needed
  • Orientation: Print upright on flat faces (threads vertical) for best results.

⚙️ Customization

  • The TPU Cable Sleeve cutout can be scaled in Bambu Studio to fit your cable diameter.
    • Adjust the cylinder size in X/Y only (keep Z unchanged).
    • I used the exact measurement of my cable diameter, but if it does not fit snug enough for you then aim for an inner diameter slightly smaller than your cable (≈ 5–10 % tighter) to ensure a snug seal.

🔩 Assembly

  1. Slide the cap and then the TPU sleeve onto the cable.
  2. Insert the body through the panel with the TPU gasket on the panel side.
  3. Tighten the panel nut from the other side.
  4. Push the TPU sleeve into the body and screw down the cap to compress it.

✅ Notes & Tips

  • Hand-tighten firmly — avoid over-torquing the printed threads.
  • Designed for splash protection and strain relief, not certified for waterproofing.
