Magnetic-Axis Lock Knife II - Quick Deployment
Print Profile(2)

Bill of Materials
Description
Multiple quick-open methods let you deploy the blade super fast and cool when needed. Once open, the magnetic lock holds firmly—you must slide the release button to fold the blade back.

Magnetic locks behave differently than springs:
Magnet physics: Pull strength peaks when magnets are closest (inverse square law), giving a rock-solid lock. At unlock position, minimal magnetic pull = near-zero pivot resistance for buttery-smooth action.
Spring physics: Least pressure when locked (spring relaxed), most resistance when compressed during unlock—harsh on pivots.
Printing Notes:
Minimal supports needed—only in screw countersinks. Easy to remove with zero impact on functionality.
Assembly Kit
Required:
- •2× M3-10mm screws + nuts
- •6× magnets (Ø6mm × 2mm thickness)
Optional:
- •Stanley blade holder (for utility blades)
- •OR fully 3D-printed dummy blade head

Parts Layout & Magnet Installation
Key:
Install magnets in blue-arrow-marked pairs—ensure mutual attraction!
Press magnets flush with recesses → avoid friction from protrusions

Internal Component Assembly
•Position parts as shown in diagram.
•Pro tip:Apply thin lubricant to pivot for smoother actio

Handle Closure & Pivot Fixation
- •Close second handle half.
- •Lock handle and pivot with M3-10mm screw + nut

For quick deployment, focus on pressing downward with your fingers—not pushing forward

The strength of 3D-printed knives cannot be guaranteed and they are suitable only for light-duty tasks, such as cutting paper or opening Amazon packages. Unless otherwise specified, all of my knife designs are intended for light-duty use only.
