Description

We have Aventon Abound Cargo bike which we use for kids' school drop offs and pickups. Here is a DIY solution (the gold standard is Tern Storm Shield).

I designed and printed clamps to mount specific fiberglass rods to make a frame which can be installed and reinstalled easily. I printed them in PETG Filament. These are on the bike for a few weeks and held fine in very hot and windy conditions. If you can print ASA / ABS, then you should use that but PETG would also work fine. You will definitely need TPU half rings, which I designed to work as vibration dampening gasket. In the pictures, you will also see screw end caps in red. I needed those since I had only longer ones and needed some protection from scratches, but f you use the right length of the M4s, then you will not need those.

The detailed instructions are shared on the Abound FB page and will be linked here.

Happy riding!
