Description

Growing up I always had a Lite Brite that entertained me for hours on end. This toy was originally release in 1967 and has seen a few revisions since it's first release however the retro tube-tv style from when I was a kid is the only version I think of when the name Lite Brite comes to mind.

This design consists of a box which holds a c7 light socket and bulb (led recommended for less heat), a panel with over 3,300 holes, and pegs which can be done in any colour. In my testing I could not find any filaments that light up like the Lite Brite pegs, so I opted to use Glow-in-the-Dark filament and black to take advantage of negative space and high-contrast. Perhaps someone knows of a filament that disperses light like the original toy does..? For this reason I have included a file named “PEG_hollow” which can be printed with a 0.1mm layer height for the thinnest possible walls and no top so that as much light can pass through as possible..

Would love to see everyone's creations!

Amazon has “translucent PLA filament” it’s not exact…. but the effect is similar… I recommend no more Than 20% infil…. for light penetration….. if anyone has any additional information…. I Will gladly admit if I’m wrong…. I am only human afterall 🤣😂
