Outdoor Garden Lamp System - Low Voltage & Modular

I set out to create a modular lighting system for my backyard that could integrate with my already existing low voltage lighting.  Here is the result of a few hundred hours of designing, printing, revising, and more printing.   

System

The system is comprised of the following core components

Lamp Shade

• Spiral vase printed for efficient filament use
• locking collar allows for secure fitment to base
• Beautiful diffusion creating soft glowing light

Lamp Base

• Houses LED strip in both vertical and diffused orientation (more on that down below)
• Threaded center post for attaching various leg / mounting options
• drainage holes modeled in to print

• multiple wiring options

   

Tripod Leg Assembly

• Each section measures 245mm long

• Leg sections snap together with sturdy friction fit clips

  

• Hollow design allows lighting wiring to pass through legs
• multiple feet options
  • Angled feet for placing lamp on flat surface
  • Spiked feet for securing legs in soil

  • Wide base feet for securing legs under rocks / stone

Printing Considerations

• 0.6mm nozzle required for lamp shade to fit base
• Remaining components can be printing with 0.4mm nozzle
• Fuzzy skin has been added to outside of base and cap via print profile
• Consider using supplied profile as many tweaks were made to ensure part strength and accuracy
